Im looking for a casual job as a general stable hand or groom. - TopicsExpress

Im looking for a casual job as a general stable hand or groom. Preferably weekdays only as weekend transport is limited for me. The more hours the better. I am based in South Bristol and available from the beginning of February to mid May/June. 25 years old, down to earth, hard working professional, reliable/punctual and eager to learn new skills. Been working in Australia the past 2 years so dont want to go back full time to an office job just yet. Ive grew up with horses and riding. In my early teenage years my parents sold my ponies so I didnt get back into riding until my late teens. Since being in Aus ive work on a few yards as I had to do farming work to count towards my visa. My first stables were Western, with professional Quarter Horse Cutting horses. I had 28 horses in total to care for 7days a week on my own. Broodmares, yearlings and 15 in full time work with atleast 10 exercised everyday. The owner was a professional rider so I would prepare his horses for exercise. If unavailable they would be put on the walker. Duties included the typical feeding, mucking out, cleaning tack, handling, tacking up(western),bandaging, hosing, rugging, preparing for and helping out at shows, medicating etc. I also undertook a similar role on a full livery Dressage yard(English tack) Mainly handling large competition Warmbloods with all general hand/groom duties. There was also ponies here that were on full livery. I was lucky enough to groom for an Australian Olympic showjumping rider at his SJ yard, again usual yard and groom duties. Im not looking for a riding position as im not qualified to ride at a professional level. Not looking for any yards with crazy dangerous horses or crazy staff. If anyone knows of a role suitable please advise. Thank you in advance.
