Im looking for input. Im trying to create a list of properties for surfaces and how they can be interacted with, and Im aiming for the smallest number of properties with the largest number of interactions. Interactive facets largely involve destruction/scarring properties, traversal/climbing properties, interactions with light, and interactions with sound. Here is my starting list: appearance - what it looks like, texture value (this is just its graphic) memorability - how likely it is to be remembered accurately (overall uniqueness, relative uniqueness, and likelihood of being worth thinking about) - illumination - its current light level (this determines how dark the area is) transparency - how much it reduces light passing through it (this alters vsibility and area lighting) refraction - how much light reflects off of it (this alters area lighting) - resonance - how sound bounces off of it and how much is absorbed (this can reduce the sound of footsteps or bumping something) noisiness - how much sound it produces of its own (not sure if needed, its for unique surfaces that produce their own noises) - strength - how damaged the surface is (this can be used to break down walls or doors or even dig holes, not sure if needed) hardness - resistance to being destroyed or altered and how shock is felt for striking it (arrows wont stick in stone but will stick in mud or wood) volatility - how easy it is to vaporize or ignite (this can cause wood or brimstone to combust) - load capacity - how much weight it can carry (exceeding this number can cause collapse) load - how much weigh it is carrying (relative to load capacity) density - how easy to displace it is (clouds have low density, brick walls have high density) - scalability - how easy it is to climb (mostly relevant to climbing stats) slope - the angle of the surface in degrees and direction (determines whether something is a wall, floor, or hill) friction - how slippery it is (relevant to many things, such as being knocked down, or climbing) abrasiveness - how damaging it is to contact (sharp rocks, thorns, textured stone)
