Im looking for men in the Lewisham borough to help me with a local campaign. I would like to record them. Please read the following statement below and let me know if youre interested. I am one of the Co-Founders of WAVES (Women Against Violence Expressing Solidarity) We are working with local audio journalist Delores Williams who would like to come and interview you in the next few weeks. Background Violence against women and girls is a big problem in Lewisham. The council is writing a strategy to tackle this. However, the problem starts within our homes and our communities and should be tackled from within. WAVES Lewisham would like local men to go on record and acknowledge the problem of VAWG within the Borough, state why this is unacceptable and commit to doing something about it. We are asking men to participate in audio recordings. These recordings will form a local contribution to the UN Women He for She campaign that will be played at the Deptford Lounge on International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women on 25 November 2014. Sample questions: Can you tell me how violence against women and girls is a problem in your community? Can you tell me why violence against women and girls is unacceptable?
