Im looking forward to a week of new beginnings in local government - TopicsExpress

Im looking forward to a week of new beginnings in local government as politics end, and governing begins. On Saturday I have the privilege of joining the swearings -in of Mayor James Rotundo in Palisades Park; Tenafly councilmen Mark Zinna and Paul Stefanowicz; and then to Bogota as we join in the administering the oath of office to Councilwoman Lisa Kohles. Sunday, is the ceremonial celebration for our new Bergen County Executive, Jim Tedesco. We have high hopes for this new administration, and look forward to lots of new beginnings here under Jim! And Monday is the wecoming of Alpines new Councilmembers Lawrence Shadek and Arthur Frankel. Monday evening we get to participate in the swearings-in for returning Freeholders David Ganz and Joan Voss who will become the new Freeholder Chair. Congratulations to chairwoman Voss! Following that we journey to Leonia for newly elected Councilmembers Pat Fusco and Maureen Havlusch. Some of these newly elected local officials will be replacing those leaving by choice or because the voters decided on new faces. And some will be replacing friends who I will miss on the governing dais. So congratulations to all - new, re-elected, and leaving. Local government is a privilege, and hard work. You have my admiration and support.
