Im mixed on the fact that Matt Damon and Edward Norton are making Rounders 2... Poker is a zero sum game and the money will continue to flow upwards to the top of the pyramid so you always need new players to bring fresh money into the poker economy, like people sitting at home watching (WSOP on TV/ESPN) and saying that looks fun or easy money and figure they can go play poker (WSOP Is a marketing tool, WPT are the real tournaments).. The only problem I have with Poker Movies is that what once was something frowned upon as gambling is quickly becoming acceptable in the mainstream as a sport!?! It kinda takes away from the people who were doing it alongtime ago. Not that I was or anything because Im considered part of the newer gen of players, however Im not the online poker generation because I missed that boat entirely (thankfully). But when Rounders 2 comes out its going to change the game once again, maybe it will bring a whole new generation of players in ready to dump tuition money into the low stake cashgame+tournaments so they can learn how to play, But Matt Damon and Ed Norton will go down in history just like Rounders 1 did yet they know nothing about poker and will be glorified for Acting... Matt Damon does play in the WSOP main for $10K buy in and the beautiful thing about poker is that you might be sitting next to him or George St. Pierre, Kevin Pollack, Don Cheadal or Ray Romano who all enter it and everyones equal at the start. I just cant decide if poker movies are cheesy or actually important for the community... I mean how many times can I watch the same movie? Then again a new one is long overdue and Runner Runner wasnt that great...(Affleck/Timberlake)...
