Im never one to shy away from Politics and this video was something I commented on earlier today. A New Zealand team performing their Haka against our West Island neighbours in Australia. The impression given was that the Australian team were disrespectful to the Kiwi Haka. I couldnt disagree more with that comment. When we NZ perform a Haka in sport were challenging our opposition by doing so. A lot of Island Nations respond with their own version of a Haka but in this case the Australian team linked arms and responded by stepping towards the NZ Team. I was proud of what I saw them do. They challenged in their way. To call their response disrespectful was more disrespectful to them than the challenge they gave. As New Zealanders we must realise that its part of our culture NOT our opponents and if we want to continue performing we need to be less precious or well loose the right we seem to think were entitled to. Just my opinion, whats your view? StM
