Im never one whos been good at blowing my own horn, and that is, necessarily, a good thing. Humility is something essential to artists, for it allows them to remain in the artistic realm while one foot remains in reality. The crowds on the Texas Gulf Coast have been increasing in size, volume, and laughter, and for this old road warrior, its all extremely gratifying. And now the Island Moon newspaper has published some very complimentary things about the folks in my band and me , personally, and the excitement level grows daily surrounding the Rip Tones. So good to work with a pro like Debbie Dault, who is the original team player, and Cowboy Ben Lee on guitar,, who sometimes makes me feel like Im back in Nashville. Tommy Spurlock has played pedal steel for a dump truckful of big names in the industry; Big JR plays the kind of solid bass that you can build a band around. Geez- makes this old heart tick at least a few beats faster! Be good AND be good at it! Peace...-1F
