Im never without a bandage. --Joan Rivers Im somewhat fascinated by yesterdays social media firestorm about the latest celebrity to get plastic surgery. Really, the only remarkable thing is that we can finally see her eyes. She probably had work done to remain relevant in her career, which is where you, I, and the rest of America come into the picture. In one way or another, we all worship at the altar of youth and beauty, whether its a leading Hollywood starlet or the cute boy next door. To me at least, its always seemed a little hypocritical when people have negative judgments about getting work done. People change their hair color. Women wear make-up. Men do steroids and get hair transplants. We shoot up with Botox to erase the years. Every one of these things can and often does dramatically change ones appearance. So, this is a non-story. Everyone does the same stuff as she did, but most of it doesnt involve a scalpel and anesthesia. And PS: Im guilty as charged.
