Im new here. Thanks for accepting my request to join! I hail from Dracut, MA. Im 46 years old and Ive been an Atheist since I was 16 years old. Started questioning deities a lot younger when I was exposed to the mass medias violence (Vietnam War and other conflicts) and wondering why the God that my grandparents talk so much about doesnt materialize and stop this? As I got older my hunger for answers became insatiable, and being kicked out of catholic sponsored privet school helped me get on the right direction. Opening a group in high school (In Houston Texas) by freshman year to get together with other people of other faiths to discuss our books placed us on the road of....well......theres no such thing as a god. Found out really quick that gods could be used to manipulate people (create the so called sheeple herds), and get them to be content with whatever the people in power wanted to throw at them. So by senior year, all of us in the group pretty much threw our books in the garbage, and have moved on to continue follow Science, Rational Thinking and LOGIC!. Its been a pretty good trip so far. Again.....thanks for accepting me in this group!
