Im not Gary Linekers greatest fan but fair play to him for his article on youth football in new statesman. He criticizes the negative role some parents play and wished some of them would just shut the f#@k up He has it spot on in my opinion, the Childs parent should be their biggest supporter. I have seen it myself a Childs confidence destroyed by their parents. Even to the extent where they play better when their parent isnt there. Very sad really, let the kids enjoy the game, they will improve that way. And let the coach help the kids enjoy it by taking away the pressure to win at all costs!!!!!
