Im not a Tinubu fan but Id say this; Nigeria would have been a lot better if other geopolitical zones had Tinubu equivalents in their zones, a man who though possess undemocratic and suppressive tendencies, is yet visionary. This is the second time in Nigerian history that the Yoruba would be blessed with visionary leadership, sadly without any echos from especially our Eastern brothers. The post-Biafra Ibo has evidently caught a very unprogressive syndrome from the devastating war. This is mass psychology- an average Ibo person is far more likely to obey civil authorities than their counterparts elsewhere, far more likely to tolerate injustice. I can theorize that the average Ibo is more likely to read instructions in official documents than other nationals..all as a fall out of the progrom witnessed by them some four decades ago, which has left them with their passive attitude. Even the younger generations have inherited this lovely but often disadvantageous approach to politics. I think its high time our Ibo brothers shake off the dusts of the past and get for itself bold, visionary leadership. Nigeria will be great, I strongly believe, if there is healthy inter-tribal competition for development. Awolowo was such a brilliant man for realising this as far back as 1943. He is today, accused of being the father of tribalism by those who dont understand his philosophy of federalism.
