Im not a city girl anymore. Many of my facebook friends are. You dont know what pain there is, first hand, in a glass of milk, cheese, a carton of eggs. Youve not seen it with your own eyes. As a feminist, as a mother, as a woman, as a human, as an animal, I cannot condone these practices or your actions when you financially participate in this. I have many who can see my posts who are producers. You can see and hear it, the same things I observe, though youve made peace with a one sided arrangement of a captive. A soul agreement or whatever you may call it, to excuse behavior toward another live being whose best spiritual or emotional interest has been set aside for your ability to inflict your wants against another. Many on either side will claim nature, science, evolution, god, or even human superiority as a justification. My athiest or non-christian friends use the opposite reasoning to achieve the same result as those who follow a deity. I love many of you dearly, respect or have something to learn from others, for reasons aside of our ethical differences. Many of us have intersecting interests or politics. But here, we arrive at the holidays, a time of joy and cheer, where we will celebrate over the bodies and stolen children of another and the fruits of ill-gotten labors, I want to say, clearly, that I dont condone this behavior. I may not be condemning the person, but I do condemn the action. And I will continue to say so.
