Im not a huge fan, per se, of Iggy Azalea, but I drop her club bangers and think shes got a pretty good thing going with her music (dont act like you dont know all the words to Fancy whilst hating it at the same time). Anyway, she seems to be catching a lot of grief for speaking Australian and rapping black. Hmmm, does anyone remember that Led Zeppelin sung the blues? Or that ELVIS PRESLEY sang rock and roll after it was already popularized by the likes of Arthur Crudup and Chuck Berry? Does Mick Jagger sing in an English accent? How about Billy Joe, from Green Day, singing in an old, English punk accent at times? Did you know that Country musics origins are from Celtic fiddle tunes and the blues? Or that hip-hop and raps origins are from disco and R&B? What Im getting at, here, is that music evolves and derives from other types of music all the time. It always has, and it always will. So, stop labeling music as black or white, and instead label it as deep or shallow.
