Im not excited about heading to Chicago for a meeting on September 11th, and neither is Tami Lynch excited about that prospect. Im praying for safe travels and a fruitful business trip and for peace and safety for all in that city (and elsewhere) as we remember the horrors of 9/11/01 and the dangers that still exist today. What I am excited about is seeing Gary Storm. We pledged Sigma Alpha Epsilon when we were both freshman in college. Recently, Gary had a trip to South Florida and we took a long (comically long, I swear I thought that Roccos Tacos was just a couple blocks away) walk to dinner that Ill never forget. The last time that we saw each other prior to that walk, we were both 19. Here we were, 27 years later, talking about the SAE Little Sisters who we married when we were just kids and who are still by our sides. We talked about our combined 13 kids and the twists and turns of life. We talked about faith and family and what matters most in life.....and we determined that we are two of the luckiest guys; sorry, most blessed, guys on the planet. I continue to find it ironic how much we discover when we are seemingly lost in our walks of life. Long walks are awesome. Phi Alpha.
