Im not going to flood my feed or yours with my opinions on this, but I will say this...the death penalty is reserved for murder...whether a suspect is a scumbag, loser, theif, liar, robber, druggy or drug dealer...he is entitled to be read his rights and a trial. An officers gun is not intended for use against unarmed suspects. Even resisting suspects. ..executing any human being regardless of race is essentially enacting the death penalty for the crime of resistance or running...also, there are many places you can shoot someone that would not result in loss of life. This problem we have today, we have had for hundreds of years. It just gets justified differently as we evolve as a country. I pray for peace and healing in this nation. What happened was a disgrace. I do not advocate burning down a city or looting, however history has shown these tactics to be among the few that work when it comes to policy changes. Tonight I am reminded why my black sons have been raised in a home that doesnt support toy guns or gun culture. In the eyes of the police my children are violent criminals and will be shot down like animals at the slightest misstep. Its a sad reality in minority homes across America, the conversations we have with our kids because they are regarded as criminals based on skin color they didnt even ask for. Smh at the world tonight. I have seen Facebook posts tonight that have me ready to reevaluate the people in my circle.
