Im not gonna pretend that I have 2 seconds on this job but the past two weeks hasnt been about that. Its been about every first responder realizing that any given day could be the same fate as Det. Ramos & Det. Liu or any other that has tragically passed before us. I wish I had know these two gentlemen but I didnt, however we shared allot in common with one another. We ALL chose a career to serve the public. Being a part of these two services was extremely moving. Thinking that it could easily be myself, my Partner, my coworkers in my command, etc... Everyday is a gift, dont take it for granted. We are all humans no matter what we choose to do in life. Cherish each day, tell your loved ones everyday what they mean to you as DET Liu did or follow your faith as DET Ramos did or follow your heart as every first responder who has made the ultimate sacrifice before us. Im proud to be a paramedic and police officer and will go to work every day, say good bye to my family and tell them I love them before leaving, put the uniform on and wear it with pride and represent it with honor!
