Im not much on saying Im sad, sick, complaining about my pain or venting things out on FB, but this is a really big deal to me. I feel very sad this week. Today wouldve made 13 years on the Police Department and yesterday was my retirment ceremony. I did not get to attend the ceremony, Im not ready to leave Momma yet. I spent my entire career as a Police Officer on the streets and I loved every second of it, patrol was what made me happy. I miss the people in my beats, some special co workers, fixing problems and the adrenaline. I was very fair and treated people right, I never had a formal complaint in my entire 12 years, I loved what I did and I loved the people. The LPD was the biggest part of my life, and I miss my work to tears. I guess everything happens for a reason....I praise The Lord that He has opened up a new door for me in New York and I couldnt be happier about that, but I wish I could just go back sometimes, a lot of times. I felt like Policing was a normal life for me, it was who I was. Ive never missed something more. I guess it just takes time to mourn the loss of something you love. #police #protectandserve #thinblueline
