Im not normally one for this kind of thing, especially on this platform, but time is short and Im trying to accommodate a lot of transition. Ive tried to have conversations with lots of people individually but its not always so easy.. Ill be leaving mid-August to begin a Masters at Yale for the next two years. Its been a long discernment process but Ive never been so convicted. To all my amigos in LA, this has been the most transformative four years of my life. Ive made friends that I feel have been with me for a decade. Thank you. Nothing at Art Center or my design education would have been half as meaningful without the people that have been a part of it. Instructors and designers who have been so generous with their time, wisdom, and passion; they are the ones who have almost single-handedly lead me to this point where I want to delve deeper in design education, and hopefully one day give back as a design educator myself. And all my friends I was fortunate to share a studio or class with..Thank you. The youth ministry that Ive watched grow these 4 years—the youth and their leadership and their conviction and striving for a Love bigger than themselves, Ive watched them become young men and women with big hearts for the world.. It was a privilege, a blessing, an honor, a gift, and unforgettable era of my life to journey alongside you. You constantly remind me of who Im supposed to be. Thank you. All that said, with packing, transition, and wrapping up so much at Art Center and home, Ill be in LA another three weeks, and Id love to see yall at some point soon to say goodbye. One Love, Ben
