Im not old enough to remember it (honestly!) but my aunt & uncle were always talking about the Palais as the place they saw the Rolling Stones, Kinks, The Who etc etc. The building has long since gone but apparently it was where the NCP car park is now behind M&S. I trawled through the Kitchin Collection of photos as few years back but sadly none exist of it but the closest I could find was the picture (courtesy of the Kitchin collection) which is the site where it would have stood (allegedly) next to the old BT building.
