Im not one who is usually quick to dish out a horrible review. We brought home take out from Fortune House in El Centro (Located in the Valley Plaza) this evening and the food was disappointing to say the very least. The Broccoli was under cooked and lacking in flavor. Very little sauce coated what was in the box. The Orange Chicken left A LOT to be desired. It too was dry and to my husbands disappointment, contained no heat/spice to it. It also contained more fried batter pieces (the kind where you take a bite only to find theres no chicken inside) than I would have liked. The Mongolian Beef is a family favorite. While the beef actually tasted the best of the meal, it too lacked its usual spicy flavor. Im not sure if the ownership has recently changed or if the food has just gone downhill but I can definitely say it is not the same food weve experienced in the past 10 years weve eaten there and unfortunately, this has not been the first of bad experiences with them. Fortune House was once the family favorite in Chinese. Now were left to consider whether or not we need to find a new Chinese favorite to bring home.
