Im not saying we shouldnt have common sense or concern in what I - TopicsExpress

Im not saying we shouldnt have common sense or concern in what I am about to say, but what I am saying is that we all need to take a look at the information we receive and our response to it. Heres how the world goes round nowadays. I could make a video...no credentials...no basis for the statements made...and if I made it professional enough and slick enough and alarming enough and then called it The US Ebola Cover Up - The Dark Secrets of What They Dont Want You To Know and got it out on social media, it might possibly get a gazillion internet hits. People thrive on alarm and receiving what they perceive as the inside scoop with the click of the mouse. Now that I know this...if I got really good at making these videos (or writing articles) and got really good at finding the right hot topics I could get more and more hits and shares which result in even more hits and views. This means people are paying attention to my stuff and I could probably make a living at it with the advertisement revenue I could get on my sites and videos. Who cares about the effect right? DISCLAIMER: The Ebola issue is just an example. Im not making any opinions here one way or the other. I just need to keep in perspective what I am reading and whether or not it is trustworthy enough to propagate further by sharing it or liking it. Something for us all to think about...it could probably even affect elections and the direction of our country if that is our source of information.
