Im not sure, but I dont believe anyone invoked the name of Jim Dickinson, producer of Big Stars third album (and Alex Chiltons later Like Flies On Sherbert), at last nights event at the Wilshire Ebell. A man I dearly loved, Dickinson was one of a kind, and that record would not have sounded as it did without his direction, and without his attitude. Heres his easy-rolling version of Furry Lewis Kassie Jones, from his own first and best solo album. You should own it.
