Im not sure how to go about this, but here it is: I tried to help someone with a dog that was at SB City shelter. I spent a lot of time on the phone with this person and felt sure that he loved his dog, but was unable to take on the financial burden of getting his dog out of the shelter. With the help of some wonderful people, I got a little 10 year old chihuhua out on the day he was to be euthanized. Two friends helped me by driving him from SB City to the vet in Yorba Linda for his neuter surgery, but blood tests revealed high liver enzyme levels, which meant he could not be neutered until his condition was stabilized. I agreed to purchase recommended medication and special food for this little white dog (he weighs less than 6 pounds) and agreed that he would be returned to the vet in 30 days to see if his condition improved enough to undergo his neuter surgery. Im sorry to report that his owner failed him. They have basically abandoned this dog. I have nowhere for him to go and am asking for your help. I will sponsor him until he is adopted, but need a rescue and foster for him. He must be given daily medication and special food and he must return to either this vet or another in 30 days, as the shelter will not waive his neuter requirement unless its concluded that he can never be neutered (by a signed certificate from a licensed veterinarian).
