Im not sure how to word this with out coming across offensively.... Ever since I got my life on track with sobriety, opening my own shop etc, my business and new clientele has really taken off! Every day Im amazed with the new followers we gain and the new people that walk thru our door willing and excited to wait for an opening in my book... And they never seem to have a problem paying what I charge... But then again I charge 90s prices ($100/hr) so really no one should have an issue with it... Which brings me to my point and whats really bugging me; it seems like family, long time clients and people Ive considered friends dont get it! Everyones looking for a hookup, hand out or some kind of special VIP line pass to the front of the appointment book. I get guilt trips from people and Ive even been told that Ive forgotten about the little people ... That hurts! And when I hear shit like this it makes me wonder if these friends forget that I support a family of 6... If they were real friends they wouldnt expect anything for free or any special treatment. Theyd be happy for us and the success weve had in our first year open and theyd respect the way we do business. Theres a specific reason my wife is in the shop and runs the business side if things... She has 2 business degrees and knows how to talk to people. This allows me to concentrate on drawing and tattooing... With all of this being said me getting this busy something had to give so that I can continue to make quality tattoos and that was that I had to stop trying please everyone! I was overworking myself and that lead to more stress and eventually lead to me canceling on people. So we got rid of the cancellation list. Require a deposit from everyone and NO ONE gets special treatment!!! I dont care if youre hot, or if youre not! If youre famous or nameless... Family, friend ... Its business! Everyone gets treated the same. Please dont get me wrong we appreciate your business but we do business our way! I hope everyone understands! Much appreciation to those who stand behind me and really get it!
