Im not sure if this is the proper page to post this but it made sense to me. A few months back my boyfriend and I found mold in our room in a corner near our bed close to where we lay our heads. The mold grew almost three feet up the corner of the wall. My boyfriend informed our landlord about it and at first he acted concerned and said he would look into it. He never really got around to it even though my boyfriend told him repeatedly that we have a mold problem also we have (at that time of telling our landlord) a new born baby and were and still are concerned for his health and ours. My boyfriend repeatedly told the landlord something should be done about it but of course he was to busy. Now the mold has spread and is starting to grow around the door leading outside and in the opposite corner behind our dresser right next to our babies crib! Also our bathroom fan is leaking water. We told him about that also and all he did was install a new light switches and a automatic fan switch. (Still leaks!) We told him about it and he did nothing. There is more to list but wont because it is the same storyline we tell him and he does nothing So my problem isnt only the mold growing in or apartment or the leaking bathroom fan but the even bigger problem is that we addressed these issues to our landlord and he has done nothing about it, in fact he left to South America and wont be back until spring. It clearly states in the Landlord Tenant Act that it is HIS responsibility to keep our apartment safe and hazard free! What should we do? ((We thought about moving but cant)) To make matters worst he raised our rent and has only installed a shitty new stove, door handle and a new light switch in the bathroom. Has anyone had this problem and if so what did you do about it?
