Im not sure many of you know this, but Im kind of a grammar nazi. I have been cringing at every single Happy New Years post since yesterday. Please, for the love of grammar lovers everywhere stop using the plural tense! The correct phrase is Happy New Year! One year. Not many. Or Happy New Years Day! Which is the possessive tense. If you want to get technical and avoid errors, you can always say Happy first day of the year! Thank you.
