Im not sure why I havent mentioned it til now, but I was asked to become part of the Saving Down syndrome admin team a little while ago. If I havent invited you to this amazing page, please go check it out & like it. Its pretty amazing and focuses on the eugenics of Down syndrome. This was my first post that highlights a nonprofit that is trying to positively improve the way a Down syndrome diagnosis is delivered. It started like this: We would like to encourage support and participation from our Down syndrome community in an effort to change how a Down syndrome diagnosis is delivered. The Down Syndrome Diagnosis Network is an easy way to change this dilemma. Its free, easy, and so important since so many of us had negative experiences. You can help, regardless of how long ago you were given the diagnosis. Please follow this link, follow the examples of positive letters written to the Doctor who delivered the diagnosis, fill out the feedback form for the Down Syndrome Diagnosis Network , submit it, and then mail the letter to the Doctor. This organization takes care of the rest and sends up to date information to the Doctor with positive examples of real families who have had a baby with Down syndrome.
