Im not sure why the post about the 18 year old dog was removed but I would like to give my input into it. Yesterday, the temperature including the humidex, was above 40 degrees. Someone mentioned that it was the same as having a child dressed up or something like that (I cant quote as the post, as I said, was removed). No, its not the same. A child would have to be wearing a fur suit underneath another suit to remotely resemble the same thing. As well, this dog is 18 years old. That would be like having an 80 to 90 year old human, dressed up in a fur suit inside another suit plus a hat, on a 40 degree day, for our entertainment. Yes, dogs are cute. But they were not put here for our entertainment. If that is why you have them, then you have the wrong interpretation of the human/animal bond. Yesterday was almost too hot for anyone to be outside. I have animals. They were outside intermittently to go potty and then spent their day in a cool basement, coming upstairs after the heat of the day. They are not 18 years old. They are not for my entertainment. Yes, they are cute. They are also defenseless in terms of what I decide to do to them. Dress them up for others amusement on Canada Day or keep them in a cool basement for their comfort and safety. Whoever thinks it was cute, I challenge you to spend 20 to 30 minutes in an FPF or RCMP officers uniform that they HAVE to wear - not just to look cute on Canada Day - on a day that is over 40 degrees. That would probably be close to what an 18 year old dog with a full fur coat and a costume would have gone through. I think it would lose its cuteness relatively quickly.
