Im not sure why we are singing the praises of Nigerias Super Eagles on a day they lost to Argentina. What is super about losing a match? Are things that bad in our soccer department that we now celebrate a loss? Yes, we are through to the Round of 16, but that is because Bosnia Herzegovina beat Iran for us. And if we were relying on the chance that Bosnia would defeat Iran, what would be the basis for that? We drew with Iran, but beat Bosnia. Which should suggest, at least to Nigeria, that Iran is a tougher nut to crack than Bosnia. With that in mind, shouldnt our game plan have been to at least draw with Argentina? Yet we lost to Argentina, but Bosnia, against rational odds, came through for us. So, if any group deserves praises on a day like this, it is Bosnia Herzegovina; they qualified us for the next round. Speaking of next round, is this the super squad we plan on presenting against the French machine? I just hope we dont confuse the Super Eagles if we turn around to chew them up if, God forbid, they lose to France. If they get used to being celebrated in loss to Argentina, being castigated in loss to France could be seriously confusing for them. A confusion that may require a psychological fix. Anyway, against France, God help us!
