Im not trying to open up a debate on veganism or the elements of animal-based food products as a whole, but I was just thinking about a particular statement that Ive seen over and over, and it goes: humans are the only species that drink the milk of another species That statement implies that other species have the option to drink the milk of another, but they just choose not to. No other species -can- drink the milk of another ... if a lion kills a milking doe of some hoofed breed, Im sure he gets to the utters and the milk along the way - as hes eating the entire body of the killed. My chickens pull worms from the earth and eat them whole, savagely crunch and swallow kicking grasshoppers. We may be the only species to physically take a food source from another while keeping it alive, but many other spices eat the entire bodies of everything around them. Maybe Im just arguing semantics on this one, but I think that saying that humans are the only ones to drink anothers milk is like saying that humans are the only ones who drive cars ... Im a big one for truth and sense in argument, but this one just seems a little silly .. Okay - now we can talk about the terrible conditions that cheap milk cows live in, all the studies linking milk products to disease, the fact that its made for the baby cows (sadly, most milking mommas are still giving milk waaaaaay past the time that that babys a baby .. ) .. I think the main practice that has died in business, farming, and most all other industries is kindness and respect .. something we should have carried over from the native Americans. Live creatures trapped in concentration camp factory settings so people can buy cheap and others can get rich is a shame on everyone involved, no debate. But .....
