Im often asked by friends in the industry what I prefer to be - TopicsExpress

Im often asked by friends in the industry what I prefer to be called when they describe what I do to others. I never put much emphasis on it before, trying not to get caught up in semantics, but lately Ive noticed that titles do make a difference when it comes to business and casting (particularly with producers and casting directors). So, as a favor, Im trying to avoid using terms like creature model, suit performer, monster actor, etc and simply use the title actor or even character actor when describing my profession. By no means does this mean Im not interested in portraying creatures and characters under suits and heavy prosthetics. On the contrary, I hope to bring even more depth and complexity to future creatures and inhuman beings and expand the sort of roles these characters play on film. I also have several films coming up which Ill be portraying human characters and am looking forward to showing everyone what I can do in my own skin as well.
