Im often asked what Im most proud of from my 15 years as a volunteer with the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. My answer is always the same and it has nothing to do with anything I have accomplished…its the people The individuals that I coached on multiple marathon teams and 14 cycling teams came from all walks of life, all age groups and all athletic abilities. Despite their many differences, they came together, focused on a common goal and accomplished extraordinary things! This video featuring Andy, a multiple myeloma survivor and Team In Training participant from the Arizona Chapter, truly captures the essence of Team In Training. Of all the emotional experiences that Andy shares in this video, the one thing that causes him to get choked up is when he talks about the teammates that he rode with in Americas Most Beautiful Bike Ride around Lake Tahoe. Every team that I have been involved with over the years truly cared about one another, they looked out for each other and they accomplished physical feats that could only be explained by the purpose behind these endurance challenges. I can honestly say that each Team In Training experience was special and I will be forever indebted to the members of these teams for their selflessness, their commitment and the undeniable impact theyve had on the Mission of LLS! youtube/watch?v=Rk6z0ueeotc
