Im on a mission to rescue this girl from our neighbors. I live in the county where there is no leash law. But this beauty has had four litters of pups since my neighbors brought her home 3 years ago. I became involved after her last litter when she had 9 pups where only 2 survived. She was 20 lbs underweight and very sickly when I saw her. Her owners refuse to get her fixed (or keep her restrained) but also neglect her so much that they dont know when shes in heat. When I held her for two weeks during her last heat, the neighbors didnt even know she was gone. When i called the humane society they said i could not legally keep her up or get her fixed without permission from the owners. When they contacted them about her they kept her up until her heat was over but let her run free now and will not accept donations to fix her. She spends every night at my house eats breakfast with my beagle basset mix every morning and she just came into heat again. I have left notes for the neighbors but have received no replies and they wont answer the door when I knock. She really is a remarkable animal. Gentle. Loving. Smart. Obedient. And her smile is a sight to behold. Id do anything to make her mine officially. But no luck so far. I knew she was a pit mix. But checking around tonight I think theres little doubt that shes a chocolate pitador.
