Im one of those people who corrects others grammar (when I have sufficient relational capital with the people involved). I know this is a pain for some, and I endure more than a little ridicule for it. But I feel like how we speak is important. Its a direct way to influence the way people perceive us. And if we come to a day when people no longer strive for correct grammar, punctuation, and diction; if we come to a day when people are afraid to contend for proper syntax and verb tense usage; or if people wont even spell check their copy before hitting send, post, or publish? Well, then the errorists have won.
