Im only going to say this once. This is stupid. Most businesses are going to be open anyways whether or not you stay home. They make money and they know people will come because something always happens and people always end up shopping or going somewhere anyways. Do I think it unfair for companies to make employees work those holidays every year? Yes, but missing one family dinner will not be the end of your life. There are also people like me. Someone who doesnt have a family to go home to to have dinner with, who would rather make some extra money with that holiday pay because times are really tough right now and who doesnt want extra money. I have worked almost every holiday since 2011 because Id rather work it, make the extra money, and let others go home so they can be with their family. If they want to work that day then fine let them, they probably need the money. According to CNN in 2011 $52.4 Billion was spent in just that weekend alone. Just let that sink in.... $52.4 BILLION! That is so good for the economy that its crazy, you need to spend money for the economy to get better and black friday does that. Im not saying you have to go to the biggest business you can find, you can shop at anything, local, franchise or corporate it doesnt matter. Just know that you staying home isnt going to do much of anything because having a sit in to protest an avalanche doesnt mean its going to have less of a chance from happening. Rant over, I just had to get that out of my system because I keep seeing this everywhere and I find it obnoxious. If you disagree then that is fine, just dont be rude about it in the comment section.
