Im passing on information about this civil disobedience action: We will be performing civil disobedience and having a sleep-in to protest the polices and BARTs new policies on Saturday, November 8th, from 10am-2pm at Powell BART station. What: Civil Disobedience Sleep-In and Picket/Rally - to include street theatre and chanting! When: Saturday November 8 @ 10am - 2pm Where: Powell BART Station, sleep-in downstairs in station Why: (1) We demand an end to the harassment, citation, and incarceration of poor people for sitting or sleeping in BART stations; (2) Every individual has the Right To Rest; (3) We want to continue to put public and media pressure on BART to stop their racial and class-based profiling and policing.
