Im playing Far Cry 4 fresh off the heels of finishing Shadows of Mordor. I enjoyed Mordor, completed it to 90% and only stopped when I was looking for content and couldnt find it. Far Cry however, at least for me, makes me want to call in sick for a week and live in that world. Even then I dont feel like I could finish it. There is just so much to do that all feels fun and different from everything else. Sure its true that it feels a lot like Far Cry 3, but this time the hero is better, the motivations are better, the world feels much more deadly, the struggle/conflict more believable. Im enjoying their Karma system and their moral choices as well. I made a choice and people died from it. They were your standard hostages that you rescue in any game, until one of the survives ran over to one of the hostages I didnt save. She started crying, no no no. He was my soul. He was my soul. I felt like shit for not saving that one nameless guy. I knew Id try harder next time. Im also playing almost exclusively with a bow and arrow. Perhaps Im watching to much Arrow but its made the game that much more interesting and brutal. I have to deal with waves of guys in a totally different way. It makes me more patient and careful than I normally play. Also makes hunting interesting. I love it. The only thing Im not doing is coop play. Perhaps Ill try it later, but I play at odd hours and cant play for any consistent length of time, but from what Ive seen it looks like a solid design. In short, well done guys. Keep it up.
