Im posting a recent Residential Addition project today, not because its an Architectural wonder, its not...though it is a good design for the circumstances. What I hope to convey is that I am so encouraged by the Clients clear appreciation for my services and willingness to pay my reasonable fees without all of the belly-aching and manipulative behavior I often suffer. Their initial idea simply could not be built due to a utility easement...usually its tough to advise folks they cant have what they want, but they got over their disappointment and we looked at several new solutions for their Recreation Room Addition. Again, I simply enjoyed the kindness of this couple and the trust they put in me, without all the usual talk of shortcuts or trying to circumvent the building department, or other sneaky half-baked ideas for saving money that never work. In six weeks we designed this, drew the plans, obtained the permit and hired a contractor...its in budget and now under construction. My fee was $4,400.00 and Ill be paid $60 for site visits once a week in Lago Vista. Looking forward to a game of pool and a few brews and Nascar on the big screen tv with my new friends!
