Im posting in regards to the mom that posted earlier about snipits. My name is Ashley and I am the manger at Snip Its in Southington. First off, I would just like everyone to know that a child absolutely cannot catch lice from our salon. Being a childrens salon we are extra careful with our tools and our disinfecting techniques. Our stylists and party coordinators are all lice certified through Snip Its Corporate which is an entire training module teaching all about the bug from how to prevent the spread of lice, the treatment and how to follow up after it has entered your home. Unfortunately most cases that are treated once, usually return and have to be treated multiple times. The nits are very small and are hard to see with the untrained eye, so the children may have spread the bugs within one another through schools, camps and each others homes with hats, shirts and other shareable items. Any tools or items used on a client (including party supplies like costumes and there are no hats) in the salon are disinfected after each use, no exceptions!
