Im pretty sure I posted something similar last year, but: I still remember so vividly, standing by the northwest corner window of Mrs. Cookes 5th grade classroom talking to Julia Mastroni when I learned of the 9/11 attacks. I remember the bus ride home, wondering how all of these children were cracking jokes and making fun while I sat in the back seat, holding in tears, waiting to get home. And while my father may not be a policeman, or a fireman, or any of the sort, I still remember the fear inside me knowing he was just blocks away from the towers. When I got home I ran to my mother crying. She told me he was okay, handed me a yoohoo, and told me we were going to pick him up from the train station, that he walked across the Brooklyn Bridge with thousands of others. I am so thankful to still have my father. And I am so sorry to those who have lost their loved ones so many years ago. We may have moved on, but we will never forget.
