Im quite disappointed that, despite my arguments, most of my Facebook friends still align themselves with a liberal or a conservative view. Ive tried and tried, and argued until my face turned blue, trying to persuade people to withhold opinions and not form an emotional relationship with either side, but rather to investigate the issues in an objective manner. This is, as my German friends would say, vergebliche werke, unproductive labor. Just for the sake of form, Ill try once again: You should never form an emotional attachment to a political view, and make it a part of your identity. It would be better, and I realize that Im talking to the wall here, to look at the issues one at a time, with an objective mind, and try to decide what would be best.
