Im reaching out for community support. My name is Emily Rowley and I survived a life-threatening pregnancy complication called Placenta Percreta, the most rare and severe form of Accreta. It was one of the hardest things Ive ever had to go through in my life. Not knowing if I would survive delivery, I had to prepare my family of 6 kids, plus one more on the way, for life without me. My delivery day ended with a 6 hour surgery, including a full cesarean hysterectomy, major bladder reconstruction, ureter repair/implantation with stents and 20 units of life-saving blood. I stayed in ICU for 3 days after and another 5 in recovery. My baby was born 6 weeks early and stayed in NICU for 2 weeks. 6 months later, I am overwhelmed with gratitude for the blessing and gift of LIFE.
