Im reading The Word Exchange by Alena Graedon... but I really sort of hate it. I skipped over 100 pages in the middle because if I dont read the end itll bother me later and I dont want to bother with it again. Sadly, in skipping all those pages I had no trouble picking up the story again. Theres so much i would later find that x meant z in a few days but not yet that I feel like almost the entire story was told in the first 20 pages. Its maddening. Its essentially about a language virus that spreads through technology, and how our over reliance on technology is ruining our culture, etc. Its a concept thats been done much better by Neal Stephenson, Max Barry and David Eggers albeit in different ways. And I highly recommend you read Snow Crash, Lexicon or The Circle if any of that sounds interesting.
