Im reading an article on communication and mindset...quote: People who have the tendency toward sadness will unconsciously scan for interpretations that make them feel sad... If your tendency is toward sadness, recognize how often you take what your partner says or does and interpret it so it makes you feel sad. Sad, or suspicious, or anger, or happiness, or trust, or kindness or other feelings... The work? What is your tendency interpretation filter? It may seem justified (example if someone cheated your filter may be lack of trust)...but it may be built on fear not love. How do you change the filter? What is the evidence that. Im in a safe environment to change my filter? What does safe look like in action? Is the person willing to create an environment that rebuilds safety, and to even stretch beyond their filter of comfort zone, to do so? Thats the work of communication in relationships... Not just partners, but friends, leader and staff, pastor and members, absent parent and kid... Yes, I read 24/7! Lol!
