Im really at my wits end with the plethora of excuses that GOPers give for not doing outreach - in ANY community. Stop it with the They dont want to hear from us bullsh** excuses & engage minority & majority communities. It wont be easy but it must start somewhere. The reality is that many black people trust neither party at the end of the day, and with good reasons. The bulk of us dont want handouts, we want solutions to the ills of our communities. We wont humanity extended to us. If that is done youd know that not every predominantly black community is a ghetto & that we dont have monolithic needs. I volunteer in all communities pretty regularly when I am able & Im not afraid at all. If you think I get ridiculed less because Im black youre partially right - sometimes. Sometimes I can get it worse but I overcome that & people listen to me even if they disagree with me on policy. Some of my closest political friends are on the left. We disagree but I dont denigrate them or insult their intelligence. We need to take bold, humble steps forward & come with solutions, thats all Im saying. Enough with the But theyll______(insert reaction) - Stop being cowards full of excuses......#putyourbootson
