Im really not sure if this could be categorized as a RAK, but Im going to go ahead with the story as I put myself out there today like I normally would not. Since I was diagnosed with breast cancer in September, I have received so much love and support and was the recipient of kindness every day. When I am asked what has been the biggest life lesson from my experience is; it is without a doubt - gratitude. Today I met Shauna, a young mom who is in the midst of her own battle. She was virtually a stranger and was one of the first people to reach out to me when I was first diagnosed. She was going through chemo at that time and had a long road ahead of her. Next week, she is going in for surgery and is very scared. This is when I knew I had to meet her and share my surgical experience and hopefully alleviate some of her anxiety. We chatted for two hours; I met her hubby and little boy. I hope she felt better, because I did, knowing that youre never too old to make new friends. Shauna, I send nothing but positive thoughts and prayers your way.
