Im really struggling with the amount or Muslim slurring that Im seeing popping up in my feed. People seem to be confusing race with religion, stereotyping nations on religious beliefs. Ignoring the progression of the overall situations at hand for sensationalized, manipulated information. I dont doubt that Isis is as terrifying as it claims to be, that the extremists are as ruthless and as vicious as they cry they are, but a little thought should be allowed for how the situation actually came to be in the first place and to what extent does it realistically represent the rest of the entire Middle East and all its fellow Muslim countries. Id just like to point out that it was the Christians that tried to wipe out the aboriginal race, HERE in Australia, not so long ago. But not every Christian supported, assisted or contributed to this view. A similar jostle for power and religious right was faced then, no? As long as we listen only to the terrorist acts sensationalized by the media, we fail to see the other 1.6 BILLION peaceful Muslims that practice this religion.. Thats right, 1.6 billion. That dont make the news every week. A few other notable and horrifically influential bible raised folk include the notable Adolf Hitler, Napoleon the third of France and Queen Mary the first of England, all of whom indulged in as much propaganda and self righteousness as the western world seemingly loves to do. Before you publicly shun 1.6 billion people for the choices a few thousand make, think how a little compassion and support could bond the majority. More can be achieved with peace and empathy that fear and contempt.
