Im really upset with Jackson St School. My son has been struggling with his attitude and his academics. I would ask constantly about homework and he would say it was done or turned in. He received very bad grades on his first report card. He has an IEP and has struggled in the past. I was not notified about them even with the daily phone calls about his behavior. At the parent/teacher conference I was blindsided. At the first sign of struggling with grades a meeting should have been called! Since then I have attempted to open the lines of communication between the teachers and I. In emails, phone calls, and in person I have talked to them about him. I came up with a plan to help and they all agreed to help. Week 2 to I ask the teachers to please give me more details about the missing assignments. No detailed reply so we proceeded to do the wrong pages. Finally I was able to get a straight answer. I found several assignments done and in his binder. I found graded work that was never documented. So again I talked to the teachers. Friday I called his homeroom teacher and told her about the work completed and found. I told her where they were and ask it there was any spelling. She said yes and would let me know. I received no call and found no homework. I found his completed work still in the binder. WTH? I know my son is difficult but just one moment of follow through by three different teachers, would be appreciated. Dont label my child and forget about him because you are tired and he is active. This is your job people.
