Im relatively new to a lot of Owl Citys music, but I have known who he was ever since I first heard about Fireflies. Upon looking him up a year or two ago, I found out hes a lot like me in several ways, and probably is the one music artist in the music industry that I can relate to the most. Hes a shy kid from a small town who picked up music as a hobby and took off with it. I havent really tried writing lyrics from pure imagination like he does, unless you count my Doovie band writing songs about other Doovie members lives or whatever; or writing songs for characters of my other comics. :) But I find several other things I can relate to in interviews of him I find on youtube. It seems the more interviews I find, the more I feel I can relate to him... not to mention the fact hes a Christian. Kinda cool. :) I do think it would be cool to meet him some day, but Ive got a higher goal to do a collaboration with him on a song one of these days.
