Im riding down the road and hear a radio preacher say that Paul - TopicsExpress

Im riding down the road and hear a radio preacher say that Paul preached a different gospel than Jesus. He said, now we no longer need to repent and follow Jesus, but should just believe. It seems that Paul did not get this memo about his teachings. This is how he describes his message to King Agrippa. Acts 26:19 So then King Agrippa, I was not disobedient to the vision from heaven. First to those in Damascus, then to those in Jerusalem and in all Judea, and to the Gentiles also, I preached that they should repent and turn to God and prove their repentance by their deeds. Interesting. Not only did he preach repentance but it seems like James, he wanted repentance and faith with deeds or works. Hmm I have also been told that Paul preached about justification and faith and that Jesus taught about the Kingdom of God. I guess someone forgot, again, to ask Paul and his biographer Luke what Paul taught. Act 28:23 They arranged to meet Paul on a certain day, and came in even larger numbers to the place where he was staying. From morning till evening he explained and declared to them the Kingdom of God and tried to convince them about Jesus from the Law of Moses from the Prophets. Acts 28:30 For two whole years Paul stayed there in his own rented house and welcomed all who came to see him. Boldly and without hindrance he preached the Kingdom of God and taught about the Lord Jesus Christ. And finally, I am told that Paul did not point us to the teaching of Jesus, but rather the doctrines of faith and justification. Funny, Paul seems very clear in his letter to Timothy about the fact that people that dont agree with the sound teaching of Jesus, understand nothing. 1 Timothy 6:3 Paul tells his young disciple that if anyone teaches false doctrines and does not agree to the sound instruction of our Lord Jesus Christ he is conceited and understands nothing. Jude tells us the faith was delivered ONCE and that it was delivered for ALL. There were never two gospels and there was never a gospel for Jews and another for Gentiles. One from Jesus and one from Paul. There is one Gospel and it is for all. And Jesus, Phillip, Paul and the disciples taught the Kingdom of God. They taught obeying Jesus commands and instructions. And Paul says those that dont, are conceited and know nothing. Im with Paul on this point. I changed my radio dial and shook my head. I decided I just had to comment on it somewhere. I am amazed at the claims by people that have access to the bible. Especially theologians and radio preachers. It seems access to the scriptures and even a formal biblical education are not enough to keep some from silly and dangerous proclamations. I say we should study to show ourselves approved. I fear for those that dont. Especially if they have access to the radio or the internet.
